Welcome To Fairless Hills Fire Dept.
 
The Fairless Hills Fire Department is located in Bucks County, PA just north of Philadelphia and West of Trenton, NJ. The company is all volunteer who help protect Fairless Hills and the surrounding communities. Our apparatus consists of two Engines, one 105’ Ladder, one Fire-Rescue, one Utility, and two Chiefs Vehicles. The Fairless Hills Fire Dept. answers approximately 700 calls annually that range from Fire Alarms Systems, Structure Fires, Rapid Intervention Team Assignments, Auto and Industrial Accidents as well as providing Mutual Aid for surrounding Fire Companies .

RESCUE RUNS HOUSE WELL OFF

Tactical box 13-08 was dispatched around the hour of 13:25 for a reported house on fire with entrapment at 63 Red Maple La. in the Red Cedar section of Bristol Twp. FM-225 (chief 31) arrived on location and had a 2 story single family dwelling with heavy fire showing. Rescue 10 arrived first and went in service with search and rescue. Engine 77 was first engine company to arrive and went in service with multiple attack lines. Rescue 31 and Engine 301 arrived dropped in and went in service with their deck gun. Rescue 31 was the RIT team. The crew started saws, and grabbed numerous tools. By this time the house was fully involved and the attack went exterior. Crews had multiple attack lines an deck gun in service. Fire was knocked down in about an hour and a half. Rescue 10's crew did locate a male in the rear of the dwelling prior to the arrival of the other companies and the victim was an obvious class 5. The Rescue crew assisted in overhaul and clean up. ALDER LA. DWELLING FIRE

Tactical box 13-09 was dispatched around 12:24 hrs. for a reported dwelling fire at 6 Alder La. in the Appletree section of Bristol Twp. Asst. 13 arrived on location with fire on the outside of house along side B. Fire did extend into attic but was knocked very quick. Rescue 31 went to the roof to pull gable vent in search of fire in the attic. Fire was knocked within 10 mins and companies were available a half hour later. Photo Lorren Barrett.

 
DOUBLE PULL FOR AN 8 HOUSE

Around 00:14 hrs stations 31, 8, 77 were dispatched for a house on fire on Tinsel Rd. in the Twin oaks section of Middletown. The companies were getting reports of a heavy smoke condition on the second floor. Deputy 77 arrived on location and had a 2 story single family dwelling with fire showing from the second floor on side D. Engine 77-1 and Engine 31-2 arrived at the same time, Engine 77-1 pulled up to side A while 31-2 went to the hydrant. 77's crew pulled initial attack line to the second floor. Engine 31-2's crew advanced the back up line to bottom of the stairs. Engine 31 arrived seconds after lines were pulled and assisted with flaking hose, hooking and throwing multiple ground ladders. Ladder 8 arrived and made a cut in the roof for inside crews. The fire was knocked with in 10 Min's and crews from both Engines assisted in overhaul. Both Engines were on scene for an hour.


 
TRENTON RD. EXTRICATION

Stations 31 and 13 were dispatched for an auto extrication at N. Olds Blvd. and Trenton Rd. Deputy 31 arrived on scene with a T-bone accident with one entrapped. Rescue 31 arrived stabilized and popped the door of the vehicle. Rescue 13 assisted 31's crew. Extrication was complete in 10 Min's. A total of 3 patients were transported to the hospital. BUILDING FIRE IN THE BORO

Stations 53, 50, 52, 51, 14, 10 were dispatched for a reported building fire at the old O'boyles Ice Cream building. Asst. 50 arrived on scene with a 50x100 building with smoke showing from C/D corner. Rescue 31 was added for RIT. Rescue 31 arrived and set up for RIT duties, starting saws and grabbing numerous hand tools. The fire was knocked within 10 Min's of dispatch. Rescue was available within 45 Min's. MARION CT. APARTMENT FIRE

Station's 10, 13, 32, 30, 14, 33 were dispatched for a reported apartment fire at the Marion Village Apartments in Bristol Twp. Deputy 10 arrived on scene with a three story garden style apartment with fire showing from the third floor. Engine 10 arrived side A and went in service with an 1 3/4 attack line. A back up line was followed. Ladder 31 was then added with trucks from 77, 44, 82, 11. The ladder was instructed to go side A, nose into Engine 10 and go to the roof. when on scene the ladder staged and assisted in overhaul due to companies already on the roof. the Ladder crew threw ground ladders and searched the fire floor with thermal camera. ENGINE ADDED TO GARAGE FIRE

Station's 7, 8, 9, 77 were dispatched for a reported garage fire on green St. in Hulmeville Boro. With more reports the corrected location was 9 McCarthy Dr. Rescue 8 arrived on location and had a 20 x 20 two story garage with fire showing from the second floor. Engine 31-2 was dispatched to cover station 8. The engine was soon called in to assist crews. The engine crew went to the attic and assisted in overhaul. The fire was place under control within an hour.

 
RESCUE FIRST IN ON SHED FIRE

Station 31 was dispatched around 01:19 am for a reported house on fire at 25 Hawthorne Lane in the Holly Hill section of Levittown. Rescue 31 went responding within a minute of dispatch, with a full crew in station. Asst. 10 arrived on location and had a well involved shed with exposures. Rescue 31 arrived on scene first and went to work, checking both exposure houses for extension. The Rescue crew found no extension to the dwellings. Engine 13 arrived and dropped in and went in service with an 1 3/4 front bumper line. Rescue crew assisted in overhaul and was available at 01:33 am. Photo from Tony Montonario.

 
RESCUE ON EDGELY HOUSE FIRE

Station 10 was initially dispatched for an investigation in the section of Kenwood, Bristol township. Deputy 10 arrived at 143 Kenwood Drive South and had a 2.5 story single family dwelling with fire showing and people possibly trapped. This brought the tactical box and Rescue 31. Rescue 31 went responding within 2 minutes of being dispatched. Engine 10 arrived first and went in service with a 2 1/2 attack line. Rescue 31 arrived right behind Engine 10 and established RIT duties. The dwelling was then changed to exterior attack. The Rescue crew did a size up and went in service throwing ladders and assisting in ventilation. The fire was found throughout the second floor and some of the first floor. Crews brought the fire under control within a half hour. Companies on scene were 10, 31, 13, 32, 33, 98. CREW FROM FAIRLESS HILLS HEADS TO DOYLESTOWN

Station 31 was dispatched to cover Station 79 and Doylestown Boro. While the operated on a 4 alarm fire in station 24's (Plumsteadville),local. The Engine went en route with 5 and arrived at station 79. After about 2 Min's of covering the engine was released and headed home.

 
TRUCK COMMITTEE VISITS PIERCE

Five Members of FHFD's truck committee (committee chairman; Chief Kevin Dippolito, Past Chief/Trustee Rich Dippolito, Captain Jason Fidishun, Safety Officer John Haney, and Chief Engineer Doug Pratt) gave up their time and flew to Apleton Wisconson on Sunday April 18th for a preconstruction meeting pertaining to our new Rescue-Pumper. On Monday April 19 these five members were in continous meetings from 8am thru 5pm, during which time they met with our salesman from Glick Fire Apparatus, Kelly Baumgartle, the engineer assigned to our project, the graphic design team, and various other personnel from Pierce, including the President of Pierce Mfg. Our new Rescue-Pumper is due in mid to late September 2010. Prior to it's delivery, members of our truck committee will again fly out to the Pierce plant to perform a pre-delivery inspection of the truck. Once approved, the truck will be delivered to Glick Fire Apparatus to have equipment mounted.

The company took part in a Pump 1 hands on drafting drill at Lake Caroline in our first due Tuesday. More Training Photos and stories will appear to help companies practice fire techniques in real life situations.

COBALT RIDGE HOUSE FIRE

Around 7:45 p.m. Tactical Box 77-7 was dispatched for a reported house on fire at 6 Crown Rd. in Middletown Twp. Deputy 8 arrived on scene and reported a 2 story single family dwelling with heavy smoke showing from the Eve's of the house. Engine 13 arrived first and went in service with an 1 3/4 attack line. Engine 77 arrived and pulled a backup line to the front door. Rescue 31 arrived third and split the crew. One crew went interior with hooks and the other to the roof. The interior crew hooked in 2 rooms and found fire in the walls and attic. 31's crew on the roof made a cut to vent the left over fire in the attic space. Rescue 31 was on scene for an hour. FHFD GOES TO WORK IN 30'S LOCAL

Tactical Box 30-32 was dispatched at 10:48 am for a reported house on fire at 114 Martha Dr. in Fallsington. Deputy 30 went responding in seconds and saw a header and requested a working fire. Rescue 31 went responding within 2 min's along with Engine 301. FM- 234-3 arrived on scene and had 2 story single family dwelling with heavy smoke showing from all sides with heavy fire on side C. Engine 301 arrived dropped in and went in service with an 1 3/4. Rescue 31 arrived second right behind 301 and went to work venting the dwelling, the crews threw multiple ground ladders and took a few windows. The crew then entered and assisted Engine 301's crew by knocking fire and hooking interior. Fire was found in the kitchen, bathroom, rear bedroom and rear porch of the dwelling. All visible fire was under control within and hour and a half. Companies on scene were, 30, 31, 32, 33, 98, 0, 13, 21. Rescue was in service for 2 hrs.
